How to record 4 mics to laptop?

I dont know much about recording with xlr and all that. ive always recorded using MXL USB mics. I need to record my snare and 3 toms separately. I already have the bass drum covered. my question is, how do I record 4 xlr/phantom power mics to a laptop to separate tracks? I need to edit the snare and toms all separately within my program (not mixer). can anyone help me?
