Recording acoustic drums?

I already know what im getting to record the drums, but want to know of you need a fast computer. Im getting 8 xlr drum mics, and a mixer with 8 xlr inputs and usb output. Currently i have a laptop with amd athlon dual core 2ghz, and 3 gigs of ram. Would this be fast enough?
