PA Speaker Only Playing Chorus?

I recently found a pair of Behringer B212XL PA speakers and a Crown CH-1 amplifier, for some reason the speakers do not play lead vocals but they do play vocals in the chorus. I am not using a mixer, I am using a XLR to 1/8in that I found with the amp. What am I doing wrong?
