Can you use the Zoom H4n Recorder as a microphone for a professional camera?

I've recently purchased a professional camcorder (Sony HVR-Z5U), and I was wondering if the Zoom H4n could be used as a microphone with the camera. Is there a way to hook it up to my camera through the XLR inputs and instead of recording anything with the Zoom H4n, it would just be used as a microphone. Is this possible?
